Quit Complaining About Halo Infinite Visuals

We get it. The Halo Infinite visuals weren’t up to snuff in this week’s Xbox Series X game showcase.

Considering the game is months away, that isn’t much to cause worry. If Xbox General Manager of Games Marketing Aaron Greenberg is anyone to go by, expect the full game to look much better.

Listen, we’re in the middle of a global pandemic. It’s July, we’re far from holiday. You’re seeing a work-in-progress game. It’s very hard to show the full power and graphical fidelity of what Xbox Series X will be able to deliver for you over a stream.

Go back and look at it in 4K 60 FPS… I can tell you, because we see build check-ins every week, and they make progress week after week, so between now and Holiday it’s just going to get better and better… was captured from a PC that is representative of the experience that players will have on Xbox Series X.

Also, the shown demo was weeks old. It’s an open-world title, as well. I’ve seen comparisons to The Last of Us Part II, a linear, finished title. It’s odd how far some will stretch to make a moot point.

The Old is New Again

While certainly not perfect, one has to hand it to Xbox for Infinite’s more classic style. Everything from the sound design to the cover art is a callback to the classic Combat Evolved.

Let’s wait to see a more recent demo, no? That’s not to mention Halo Infinite will have ray tracing post-release. If ray tracing isn’t top-of-the-line, I don’t know what is.

If anything, the multiplayer is what’s really important.
